Byron Bay
Originally a logging town, then a whaling station, today a popular tourist destination for travellers from all over the world, especially young backpackers and surfers. Byron Bay’s population is about 9,000 and is the most easterly town of the Australian mainland. Known as one of the most densely creative artistic towns in Australia, can be experienced on the Byron Bay Artist Trail. The walk takes you around 15 studios and galleries in the Byron Bay Arts and Industry Park. Also a very musical town, musicians can be heard on the beaches, streets, in bars and cafés.
