Waratah
The ‘Town of Tin’ is a historic mining village in the Tarkine area on the Waratah and Arthur River. A walk through the cool temperate rainforest to Philosopher Falls is a must, (the Tarkine area is the second largest cool temperate rainforest in the world). The beautiful damp walk follows a historic hand built water race which took water to the tin mines near Waratah. The walk is moderate with many steps down to the waterfall platform, allow 1.5 to 2 hours.
