Castlemaine
The Street Rod centre of Australia. Surrounded by rolling hills, Castlemaine is a leafy historic town in Central Victoria. One of the oldest towns, built on the gold rushes around 1852 and was declared a town on November 1st 1853. The area has many artists and craftspeople, a trip to the Castlemaine Art Gallery and Historical Museum is a must. The historic Theatre Royal built in 1854 is the longest operating entertainment venue in Victoria.
