Fitzroy Crossing
The small town of Fitzroy Crossing is literally the crossing over the Fitzroy River. In the wet season the Fitzroy River is huge. Geikie Gorge National Park is a must, the 360 million year old gorge was once a reef under ocean. Twice daily in the dry season a tour boat cruises the gorge where you will see plenty of wildlife, including freshwater crocodiles. Tunnel Creek National Park boasts the oldest cave system in WA. The 750m long cave is located between Fitzroy Crossing and Derby through the Napier Range and was once known as the cave of bats.
