Lake Argyle
Lake Argyle is a Australia’s largest body of fresh water, dammed to control the water to the Ord River and supply water to Ord Irrigation Scheme and hydro electricity. The 6 million megalitre dam was completed in 1972, the wall is 68 metres high and 355 metres long. The area is largely occupied with a large variety of birds, fish, fresh water crocodiles and other wildlife.
