Marble Bar

Known as Australia's hottest town, Marble Bar has the record for 161 consecutive days above 37.8° in April 1924. A colourful jasper bar was discovered while searching for gold in 1891 which was thought to be marble, hence the name of the town. You can take home your own piece of jasper but only from the Jasper Deposit, fines are enforced at Chinamans Pool.
